There is a lot of controversy surrounding a new product just unleashed on the internet marketing community. This product, called "Get Google Ads Free", was unveiled this week and the forums - notably "Warrior Forum" - are all a buzz over the integrity and ethics of the ebook's author.
The central issue has been a general consensus that the book's title is misleading in that you will not get Google pay per clicks (PPC) for free - rather the ebook outlines a method for reducing or eliminating the PPC cost by selling advertising space on your pages which will negate the Google PPC fees. In essence you will still have to pay for your Google Adwords campaigns but hopefully you will sell enough ads to other site owners to pay for the Adwords.
Here is a simplified example of the system.
Begin a Google PPC campaign by bidding for the top ad position for your keyword.
Let's use "Make Money Online" as our keyword. This has a lot of searches and if we get the top ad position we are certain to garner a massive amount of hits to our site each day - thousands of visitors.
If we pulled in 10,000 visitors a day the assumption is that we can now sell ad space on our site to other marketers who want to be seen on a site that gets 10,000 clicks a day. They of course would expect a good number of clicks on their own ad located on our site.
We sell ad space to others by placing a banner on our site telling our visitors that they can place an ad here and when they click the banner they are taken to a page with our impressive page stats and a rate chart for our ad fees.
Our fees are based on what our PPC campaign is costing us - in general if we are spending 10,000 a month on PPC then we might sell 10 ad spaces for 1500 a month each.
This would cover our own ad costs and leave us with a tidy profit of $5000 each month.
We would also run adsense ads on our site and have a product for sale as well. Both should bring in a good profit as well.
This in a nutshell is how the system should work.
Question? - Will it work?
Yes and no.
Yes it works on paper - for someone who has deep pockets and can carry the adsense costs until the advertising is sold.
Using the "Make Money Online" keyword you would have to set a adwords budget of $10,000 a day at $5 a click to get the top spot in the beginning. (I'm guessing but this is probably close) As time goes on your PPC costs will come down considerably while keeping the top spot. Why this is so is explained in the ebook and it is true. One of the secrets to adwords is that you can start out paying $1 a click for top placement of your ad and if you garner enough clicks (click thru rate) Google rewards you and lets you drop your bid a little at a time without lowering your ad position. I have started out at a buck a click and reduced it as low as 12cents without ever losing the top spot - even to sites paying a buck a click! (Note: This is something you should remember)
I bring up this little adwords secret for a reason - the Get Google Ads Free ebook has me in a conundrum - because the Title is clearly misleading this ebook is being trashed by the majority of the "Get Rich" crowd and rightfully so - except that it is actually a good book for a number of reasons;
The Guru's are silent on the issue because they know what I know - this book does give away the basic method to making money online. The adwords technique he describes is the one that all the big boys use - and this is why they are silent, they understand that everyone is mad at them for promoting this thing but at they same time they know that the book is really quite good. The general public is assuming that the system doesn't work because the title is misleading - had the title been "How to eliminate Google Ads", people would now be reading the book.
The books central twist - selling ads on your site - may or may not work, but regardless of this the rest of the book is worth the price anyway.
This guy can write sales copy as well or better than anyone I've seen. You would be wise to read his landing page - and learn from it.
The book is extremely well written and organized - he manages to break down the main form of making "real" money on the internet in simple steps that anyone can follow. The real way to make any serious money on the web is not his "selling ads" twist but rather the adwords system that he explains in detail first in order to show how the "selling ads" twist works. If selling ads works then this would be a bonus.
The adwords system that he explains is one that already pays for itself - the gurus have been using it for ages - the twist is novel and he should get some credit for originality. He really shouldn't have used a misleading sales pitch as it has tarnished what would otherwise be a must read for anyone who really wants to know the method used by all the top marketers.
The Adwords Method
In really simple terms the method is as follows;
First you have to have a product that does sell.
It has to be in a niche that gets decent traffic.
You bid for top Adwords Position on Google Search.
If your Ads are written correctly you should receive a high click thru rate and your adwords costs will decrease dramatically while still keeping top spot.
Your product landing page converts well covering your costs and giving you a profit.
That's it folks - nothing very original.
While this sounds simple there are a lot of trial and errors and costs involved in doing each step. It is this research that keeps most people from achieving success using adwords and look to SEO instead.
This ebook will not tell you what product to sell nor the niche but it does show you how to use Adwords properly once you have the product. This info is worth the price of the book and I should mention this company has the best affiliate section I have ever seen - something all the other marketers should take note of and duplicate.
In short, this is a very professional, well designed, well organized, and unique book in a sea of regurgitation. There are a lot of nuggets in the pages and far more marketing trade secrets than I have mentioned here and it's a shame that most people will not read it because the author lied on the sales page.
If you buck the trend and get a copy I suggest that you leave his twist alone and concentrate on the rest of the book - you should come away with a clear understanding of what needs to be done to make a profit online.
