Back in March/April there was some buzz surrounding a new advertising network that was entering Beta stage (Beta is the cyberworlds term for "new and being tested") and they were looking for 5000 people to sign up and give the program a try. At the time I was going to suggest my readers give it a try as it was free to join and you could even make money during the trial test.
As is common for new ventures - Fair Ads Network suddenly closed it's doors and stopped taking new members - well short of the 5000 people too. The cause was most likely programming problems and a shortage of capital although I am just guessing. Like Agloco we have seen how long these new systems take to get up and running.
A few days ago the creators got the site fired back up and are again looking for Beta Testers - this time they say the beta is ready to start and they need an undisclosed number of people to try it out.
What is Fair Ads Network?
Basically this program is designed to compete with Google's Adsense/Adwords marketing - no small feat by anyone's standards. There are several competing networks already available but none of them have been particularly successful so far. The biggest downfall to the upstarts has been the fact that they are only available to Americans whereas Google allows people the world over to make money with Adsense. This is why I think Fair Ads may have a better chance than the previous comers. Fair Ads will be open to a global audience and they make a point of telling their members that they will never ban you for click fraud or other violations ala Google's notorious "you're banned for life and we won't even tell you why".
The folks behind Fair Ads boast that their click detection software is so good that they will always know which clicks are real and which are fraudulent and that they will just ignore the fraudulent clicks. They even state that you can go ahead and click your own ad a million times and they don't care as none of the clicks will count. Obviously they are targeting the "banned by Google" market but they do offer several novel twists as well. You can make money several different ways as a publisher and there will be different levels of membership available from free to paid.
Rather than go on about this at length you can visit the site and read all the details yourself. I simply wanted to mention the program so that those of you who are interested can hop on board while they are still taking beta testers. You do get to keep the money made from displaying ads during the beta and it is free to join up so I figure you have nothing to lose. Just keep in mind that Google does not like you running competing ads on the same page as adsense so make sure that you keep your Fair Ads on separate pages.

A Few Progress Reports
Backlink Solutions (opens site in new window)
I mentioned in a previous post that I would keep you up to date regarding a new Back Linking program I've joined. See my post BackLink Solutions for more on the program.
I was waiting to see if any of the backlinks appeared on the search engines before I recommended this program for others to try.
Two days ago I received a PR3 link from one of the blogs on Yahoo and this morning a second PR3 link popped up on Google as well as a PR1 and a PR4. This is good news and I am optimistic now but I still have some concern that some of these PR sites may be downgraded after the next Google Page Rank Update due sometime at the end of July. If these are bought expired domains with existing PR then it is not uncommon to see Google downgrade the PR ranking when these sites come under new ownership.
At any rate I am less on the fence about BackLink Solutions than I was a few days ago. For those of you who are still hesitant you can wait a bit longer as there are plenty of spots left for membership. This morning I counted 48 members on the Backlink Solution Forum out of a targeted number of 300 before they cut of memberships.
I will keep you updated on any new PR links I get.
